Behind the Scenes: Crafting Manuscripts for a New Series of Children’s Books

Regulars to my Medium profile or readers leafing through the Internet for interesting things to read might have noticed that I disappeared from Medium for a while.

As I shared earlier, I was developing a book proposal and a rough, first-cut manuscript for an upcoming series of children’s books that can teach values through Singapore history.

Well, some good news to share: I’ve signed the book agreement!

And the publisher accepted my first draft manuscript (with many revisions of course)!

And today morning, I sent in the other two manuscripts that form this children’s book series!

Not bad for a Singapore heritage enthusiast and writer by night, I have to say.

(I usually introduce myself as “a worker by day, writer by night, and public speaker by weekend”.)

However, this is not the end of this particular journey, but the beginning.

Naturally, behind the scenes, there will be many, many rounds of editing and…
