Introducing Our Amazing Heroes
Supported by Genealogy Society Singapore, Our Amazing Heroes is a collection of children’s stories that captures the values of bravery, honour, kindness, and compassion during World War II and the Japanese Occupation of Singapore.
As Mr Ng Yew Kang, the President of Genealogy Society Singapore, put it:
“Shawn Seah’s Our Amazing Heroes illustrates how the deep roots of family history and enduring family values shaped the lives of local heroes.
Their remarkable contributions to society remind us how family ethos, support and legacy inspire acts of courage, compassion, and leadership across generations.”
In this series, a sequel to Our Amazing Pioneers, I cover the amazing stories of Mrs Elizabeth Choy, Dr Ee Peng Liang, as well as Captain Ho Weng Toh.
These stories, along with the fact boxes in each of the spreads along with the more detailed write up at the back of the book, bring history to life.
Through the magic of talented artist Patrick Yee, the fully-illustrated pages make the stories accessible, engaging, and inspiring to young readers.
